October 5, 2001 – Arrive Moscow

We checked into the massive Rossija Hotel, right next to the Kremlin. The hotel has nearly 3000 rooms, though it has probably seen better days. It is by no means a luxury hotel. Once we had checked in and showered, we set off on a city tour. Moscow today, with a population nearing 9 million, ranks as the world’s fourth largest city.
