October 6, 2001 – Moscow

What a wonderful surprise Moscow was! It is not at all the gray, depressing city that Sue found it to be on her last two visits. It is full of energy, bright, exotic, cosmopolitan, a very "happening" place. We really enjoyed our time there.

We walked around at night, felt completely safe, saw young people hanging around Red Square, lots of cool sidewalk cafes, all the boutiques and shops that any modern city would have. And we saw many museums, churches, toured around the Kremlin, had a blast.

On our first morning in Moscow Sue and Rudy were on their way down the stairs of the hotel, going for breakfast. There on the stairs they saw two men helping a third man in a wheel chair down the stairs. Waiting for them at the top of the stairs were familiar faces -- Olga and Henry Enns! In their 3000 room hotel, with so many restaurants to choose from, completely unexpectedly, they met Rudy's cousin! Quite a coincidence!
