October 7, 2001 – Moscow

Sue H. has a coffee before we go back to the train station. As we got to the station, the news that the US had begun bombing Afghanastan was breaking on CNN. It was a terrible shock to all of us, though it wasn't really unexpected. Our mood turned quite somber as we boarded the overnight train to St Petersburg.
