 July 25, 2007 -- The Palace of Parliament covers 330,000 sq meters and cost an estimated 3.3 billion Euro to build. Here we have a view of what Ceaucescu intended to be Romania's Champs-Elysees, the busy fountain-lined 3.2km boulevard, famously 6m longer than Paris's Champs-Elysees. An entire suburb of historic buildings had to be destroyed to build this boulevard, which leads to the palace.
