Our butts had barely recovered before we were once again back on a bus, on the road to Panama. We left San Jose at 1:00 in the afternoon and arrived in Panama City at 5:00 am the next morning. Once again we check into our hotel, and by now the first question we ask at the front desk is "Where can we NOT go -- and is it safe here?" Well, the receptionist tells us not to turn left when we exit the hotel, that's a very dangerous area. So we head right when we leave that afternoon. And walk right into the middle of the Fat Tuesday Fiesta parade! Big parade, lots of street vendors, firecrackers, confetti, cheap beer and hotdogs. The presence of so many people and so many policemen eased some of our fears.
