October 2-4, 2001 – Aboard the Trans Siberian Railway

As we sped by some of the towns and villages, we saw beautiful ornate churches (just behind the tree, in the distance) and many small homes. Despite the basic wooden exteriors of the homes, most had colorfully painted shutters.
