September 28, 2001 – Ulan Bator
We returned to Ulan Bator with time to explore before we boarded our evening train bound for Siberia.
We found out that the Czech Republic embassy was right next to our hotel, and Sue and I were lucky to meet a very nice lady there who helped us to get visas to visit Czech Republic after the completion of our train journey. She was very friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of info and even addresses of friends of hers that had tour companies and bed and breakfasts that we could check out when we got to Prague. And we didn't have to wait the usual 2 weeks and send away our passports and and so on, like we would have had to do if we were at home. |
