We found a great restaurant in Punta Del Este, Uruguay, and decided to have almuerzo (lunch). Like many Argentinian restaurants, the main feature at the restaurant was their asado, an open fire barbecue. The menu included 'bife a caballo' (beef on horseback), which is steak topped with an egg; 'parrillada' is blood sausage, ribs and other meat grilled together; 'churrasco' is grilled steak and 'milanesa' is deep-fried breaded beef. Sue and I each ordered one of the choices (not knowing what to expect) and enjoyed our 'lunch' with a local cerveza. |
