Later the same day we visited the impressive site at Ollantaytambo. This archaeological complex was a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious and military center at one time. The Spaniards called it the Fortress of Ollantaytambo. Although we were tired from all our mountain trekking, we still had to climb all those stairs behind us to get to the top of the terraces.
