This is a portrait of Sor Ana de los Angeles Monteagudo. Sor Ana was delivered to the Catalina nuns when she was three years old, to be educated and instructed. It is claimed that during her nearly 82 years in the convent, she performed many miracles. Before she was buried, a painter reproduced her face in a portrait (something that was forbidden by the nuns). Sor Ana de los Angeles died on the 10th of January 1686. She was recently recognized as the first saint from Arequipa.
