January 29 to February 5 - The Galapagos Islands stand among the wonders of the natural world in their ability to inspire awe. It's an environment of unique and incredible life forms -- almost marooned on a volcanic reef 1000 kilometres off the coast of Ecuador. The Galapagos islands have never been connected to a continent. All life flew, swam, or was blown there. Many of the species found in the Galapagos can be found nowhere else on Earth. More than 1,900 of its more than 5,000 species are endemic.
