March 29 - Itaipu, conceived as the world's most powerful hydroelectric dam, has become one of the greatest tourist attractions in South America. The dam was created as a joint venture (the agreement was signed in 1973) between Paraguay and Brazil. We had a quick tour of it before we left on a 10 hour bus ride to Curitiba.
