Wednesday, August 21 St. Peter's to Souris 73 km (45 mi.) Our tour's longest day took us along some of the finest beaches in all North America. We watched for herons, and possibly seals. We went to the far eastern tip of the Island. In fact, to where the province is no more than a few feet wide. At East Point Lighthouse, we saw where the Northumberland Strait meets the mighty Gulf of St. Lawrence. Elmira was once the end of the line. Today its Railroad Museum is the start of a new trail system, which we could ride. On the southern coast, the scenery was splendid. We followed it to outside of Souris, where we ended a full day. Our campsite was along the ocean at Red Point Provincial Park and was quite attractive. |
