This is Malachy McCourt, author of the book "Danny Boy: The Legend of the Beloved Irish Ballad." He DID NOT sing it this night at Foley's Pub and Restaurant, across the street from the Empire State Building, where the song had been banned for the entire month of March by the pub owner. However, on this night we DID hear one of the stars of the Broadway musical "Phantom of the Opera" sing Danny Boy while Rudy and Sue enjoyed a guinness.
