Saturday, August 4, 2001 - Five Islands Campground. The name of this location in near Parsboro, Nova Scotia is an apt one -- you can see the five islands about a mile across the sand flats. Tracks in the wet sand are from clamdiggers, who followed the tide out in search of clams. It was possible to walk all the way out to the islands, but one would have to hurry. When Sue awoke at night at around 3:00am, the water was at high tide, and when she looked out of our tent window, it appeared as if it was right next to our tent! |
