HSBC Main Building is the first building of its size in Hong Kong constructed entirely of structural steel without any reinforced concrete in the inner core. The super hi-tech building in Central is a marvel of modern architectural design. We learned that it was designed so that it could be taken down and moved to another location if the transfer of Hong Kong from Britain to China (1997) didn't work out.
