We left home early Sept 1. Had a long layover at the Toronto Airport (made easier by booking ourselves into the Premium Lounge for the afternoon). Then flew from Toronto to Athens to Heraklion, Crete. A taxi took us to our "Prince of Lillies" hotel. We checked in, had a nap, took a bus into Heraklion for a quick visit. We ended our first day with a delicious wood-fired pizza and a giant Mythos beer right at our hotel. The next day we bought bus tickets and headed back into Heraklion. First stop, the Archaelogical Museum. The temporary exhibition featured this famous "Prince of Lillies" fresco in the entrance.
