In White River Sue posed next to the monument to Winnie the Pooh. Winnie was the surviving cub of twins. She was found by a trapper after she had lost her mother to a hunter. He brought her back to White River. From there the cub ended up in a London zoo where A.A. Milne saw her and was inspired to write the famous story.
