"Why?" monument to Ukrainian internees in Banff National Park. Most tourists hustling by on the Bow Valley Parkway through Banff National Park probably don't notice the sculpture, Why?, standing beside the road. The statue, a man in a wide-brimmed hat with a troubled look on his face, testifies that many of the park's roads and golf courses were built by Ukrainian labourers, taken from their homes and put into forced labour during the First World War.
