Trekking in Nepal

November 1 to 11, 2002

Monday, November 11. Due to the strike called by the Maoist rebels in Nepal, we left for the airport very early in the morning, in the back of a 'farm' truck. The streets were relatively empty, except for soldiers and security personal, and we made several stops at 'check points' before reaching the airport. As we flew out of Nepal, I caught one last glimpse of the terraced hills and the majestic Himalayan mountains.
