Saturday, November 02.
Our group spent the day touring Kathmandu. We visited Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in Nepal, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati river. I had seen goats being slaughtered and dead dogs being thrown into the river, but here we saw funeral pyres burning beside that same river. That's Walter, Heiko, Winston, our tour guide, Graeme, and Sue, watching as another procession wades through the river, carrying a recently deceased body to the funeral site.
