November 19. The annual Festival of Lights was at its height the night we were in Vientiane. Our tour group went by tuk-tuk to see the spectacle: thousands of Laotians came out to celebrate the carnival-like event. Tom, Sue, Margaret and Ian (who is already celebrating!).
