Cambodia - Ruins at Angkor Wat

The drive to this ruin was 25 kms from the Angkor Wat site. Som, our taxi driver, recalled how he had driven UN officials to the site while it was still surrounded by landmines. Today the site has been cleared of landmines, and a police escort to ward off bandits is no longer necessary as it was just 5 years ago.
