October 6, 2001 – Moscow
Next we stopped at the Park of Fallen Heroes. We saw statues of Lenin and Stalin and many others, who had suffered vandalism when the communists were thrown out, and instead of allow complete distruction the city decided to remove them from their permanent locations and move them to one park. That's Rudy posing next to the statues of Marx. The wooden thin statues in the trees behind were a tribute to the many thousands who suffered during Stalin's regime.
In the afternoon, we saw Lenin's tomb. After the tour we headed back to our hotel for lunch. |
