In the evening we all ate mutton dumplings together in the camp's restaurant. Sue H. decided to move all the separate tables together into a long row, and so we met some of the other tourists. We made friends here and ended up socializing quite a bit with these people as the train journey progressed.

Left to right: Peter and Gregory Schuerch, from Switzerland, a father and his 20-year-old son; Sue H from Australia; David, our Mongolian tour guide; Trisna, from Hong Kong; Steve, and sitting across from him, his wife Margaret, from Australia; Rudy and Sue; Sylvanna, our Australian tour guide; and a local Mongolian guide that Peter and Gregory had hired. Steve and Margaret were travelling together with Murray and Chris, friends of theirs, also from Melbourne. They are around the bend, out of view in this photo.
