Monday, September 24, 2001 – Beijing

We ended our tour of Beijing with a visit to the famous Chinese Acrobat Show. It was spectacular -- each act seemed to out-do the previous one. Lots of spinning plates and balancing on chairs, and other feats of skill and dexterity. A highlight was the 18 lovely girls who managed to ride on one bicycle with flair, making it look effortless.

The next morning it was time to pack our bags and head for the train station. We were about to begin our Trans-Siberian Discovery Tour. We boarded the train, stowed away our packs, and set off past the Great Wall, north to our next stop, Mongolia.
