Entering Croatia we saw many towns like this -- ghost towns where windows are shattered and yards are overgrown as a result of the Bosnian war. The signs on the road warned us not to wander off the road because of the danger of landmines. Here the spectacular silver-colored mountain contrasts with the devastation in the town below. That's our rental car with the German sticker on it.
