Despite my initial concerns about safety and the danger of car theft in some of the Eastern European countries, our first night in Poland helped to ease my worries. Most nights we found guarded parking lots and we never actually experienced any crime. Here at the Plononez Motel we met Richard Gebhardt, a kitchen appliance salesman, who ended up taking us around northern Poland for the next day.
