Cabrière Estate, where vintner and cellar master, Achim von Arnim, gave us a highly entertaining and informative tour of his winery. Of course it included a fair amount of 'tasting'. Here Achim demonstrates how the soldiers who forgot their corkscrews opened bottles with their sabres. Guests were invited to knock the top off the bottle with a quick slash of the sabre. Several bottles of "Pierre Jourdan" champagne were opened for us to sample.
