We picked up Karen and Werner Pries from the Portland airport on August 1, 2008 and drove to the Crest Motel in Astoria from where we would begin our cycling trip. But first Werner and Rudy had to assemble the Pries's bikes that accompanied them on their flight from Winnipeg.
