In the evening we set out for Boat Quay. We were looking for a restaurant called Jumbo's, recommended by the front desk at our hotel. We found it. Sat down outside at a table and opened our menus. Whoa! Expensive! The 'Chili Crab' we were told to order was $28. Sue ordered a Dragonfruit with lobster appetizer and a glass of (bad) red house wine. I ordered a beer and the crab. I made a total mess of myself and got very little to eat. Sue was hoping to share! Her little dish was gone in 60 seconds. The bill was $80 and we hadn't eaten anything! And it was outside right beside another table -- not nice at all. We paid and went for a walk. I had a couple of chili stains on my nice white shorts -- and that pissed me off too. We walked through the Raffles City mall and sat down in a small food court cafe and had pumpkin soup and a thai chicken salad for $10. Now at least we could say we'd had supper.
