Nearly every day we'd get a powerful wind coming down over these mountains. Graham had a crew of workers up in these mountains, cutting down foreign plants which were threatening to overtake the natural fynbos that grows here. The vegetation of the Cape region offers a rich treasure of blossom plants that annually attracts a great number of botanists from all over the world. Science divides the entire plant cover of the earth into six floral kingdoms, the smallest of which, but proportionately richest in species - is the Cape Region. Its diverse evergreen wealth of plants is named fynbos, meaning "fine bush". It mainly consists of members of the Protea and Erica species as well as sour grasses.
